New LJ is munchacha !  I've been sick of this LJ for a very long time and finally got off my ass to move.

Might move some shit!  So in a few days or so flist might be flooded, sorry for that.

A little backstory.
I used to be in a Ragnarok Online RP board; it eventually slowed down and died.  Members moved on.  Since a lot of the RO monsters didn't canonically have personalities it was pretty fun to make up our own and go from there; I did that for Moonlight Flower and Wickebine Tres.  Good times.

Then, today:

I was floored, you know?  Who would even bother?  I was a little aggravated that I was only told AFTER their application for the character was submitted, but hey, I wanted to know what s/he'd taken first.  It ended up that not only were most of Wicke's appearance taken, but her personality had been completely ripped off.  In order to 'differentiate' the two Wickebines they turned her into a brainless sex-crazed twat that was completely and utterly two-dimensional.  That isn't her at all.  Canonically, even in the game she was tortured to the point of becoming semi-incorporeal--ghostly-- and utterly despised her position.  Wickebine would give anything to live again, to be able to have a heartbeat and to love fully and maybe get married and have a family.  That's impossible for her, so while she is very loose and sexual, it's one of the few ways she can communicate her desire without honestly loving someone.  She's all about free love, and while the physical aspect plays a role it is NOT the focus-- it's the closest Wickebine can afford to be to someone without getting hurt.  And even then she ends up loving anyway; that's just Wicke.  Basically they copied, and even failed at copying.  Thankfully we talked over Y!M and she's going to make Wickebine into some other stereotype-- but not a stereotype of how I see her.

And... while that made me feel like crying (I am really fucking attached to Wicke) I stumbled onto the profile of this RP board's Moonlight Flower.  The title looked kinda familiar-- the poster of the profile / application, anyway.  I saw "Ha-Neul" and my stomach just fucking dropped.  They wouldn't, I thought, but people suck and yes they would.  Her appearance, her personality, her strengths, weaknesses, age, the name I'd given her to be used instead of just "Moonlight Flower," her history and powers were all copied and pasted directly from her old application on the Ragnarok Online board I used to hang out in.  

This is-- god knows how many months, I know it's been over a year since that board was active.  I talked to this person before, the one who stole Ha-Neul's character, I've RPed with her.  She seemed nice.  And now that she's head admin of her own RO board, it's suddenly okay to thieve someone else's development?  I know Moonie's a pre-existing monster, but not with any personality hints to go off of in-game.  Everything that was taken... nngh

she's not a cat, she is no one's pet, she would never be some irredeemably evil man's pet demon fucking HELL she's got PRIDE or didn't you read that in the profile, miss, or did you just copypaste without looking and just edit a few names here and there until only her relationships and contradictory behaviour was yours ahsdfakjshdfkasdfsfas,d fuck you. fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you
I don't think I can communicate how this shit made me feel, man.  But I have one snarling demon in my head and one very quiet ghost, and both of them combined make me surprised I didn't actually cry.


edit: Ha-Neul Ripoff deleted the monster's profile after I contacted her, offering no explanation.  Wicke Ripoff is gone too. Not as nauseated anymore.

I feel quiet. Not sure how else to describe it. Everything is muted and... eh, I don't know if it's just my being braindead or if nothing can really hold my attention right now. I think I'll just go snuggle with my cat or something. Sounds nice.

Trillian can be a leeeeeeetle annoying sometimes, but I have working IM.  It's all good, it's all good man.
.... and I also don't have to be so lazy about logging into my Y!M and MSN as well as my AIM.  All is well.




Iiiiin other news....

Not much rly.  Holidays just started today and I have a fucking five day weekend.  Hope I can stop level grinding in So3 long enough to finish it by Monday-- I want to pick up DDS again. D: D:  I do have homework though... one take home test in Science and a "Constellation Book" in that class, too.  To be fair it's really fun; we get to make our own myths / legends and a constellation.  Plot is as goes:

Matt the Zombie wanders away from his horde, bored of rampaging and curious about the world.
Matt encounters Cliff the Intoxicated Bard, who is overall very friendly and lends him a pair of goggles.
Matt walks into the city!!
Matt encounters Anke the Thieving Slave.  She gets a little too close for comfort and runs off with the goggles.
Matt chases her, and together they encounter Neuro the Inquisitor.  Anke apparently stole something from his master, and he tosses Matt the Zombie's new goggles up into the night sky.
Story ends with Neuro chasing down Anke, while Matt trudges back to his horde, all depressed-like.

... okay. I see a lot of people freaking out, and I'd like to say something--

Calm the fuck down (please).

There are god knows how many lawsuits just waiting to be filed, the protesting has only just begun, and while some Californian voters might seem like they're bigoted assholes for saying yes?  Largely it is due to misinformation that it was passed, even by a close margin.

It's a common misconception that Proposition 8 involved banning the teaching about homosexuality in schools (including elementary).  You don't necessarily have to be against gays to not like this- hell, marriage isn't even taught, period.  I know for a fact that a lot of people have issues with sexual education as it is in elementary school, and I can't say I'd be for teaching children about sexuality when they aren't in middle school (at least) either, when they are hopefully mature enough to understand.

From that misconception a slogan came about ("Yes on 8, keep your kids straight" is just one particularly extreme example.  Not necessarily why some voters went the way they did.) and the numbers kept adding up.  No one for the passing of the Proposition was about to clear things up when it could hurt the campaign, and certainly not the churches putting so much funding into it.

And humans have a tendency to block out what they don't want to hear.  Would they believe being told that they were lied to, screamed across a crosswalk mid-protest, broadcasted on a biased news station?  It's doubtful, even when the truth is something simple, that the California Constituion would be amended to erase the vaguer definition of marriage and define it as between only a man and a woman.

(I'll note that the churches aren't necessarily the bad guys here, as well.  A boy at school I'm friends with, his entire church voted no on Proposition 8.  The main problem is ignorance, not religion.)

Others are worried about marriages pre-8.  While they won't be discounted, their legality can be contested if someone decides to be an asshole (which will probably happen)... which will set off another round of lawsuits.  The expenses of this campaign won't be finalized for a while.  They still have equality for the moment.

I also... would like to say here and now that for me, civil unions / domestic partnerships and marriage are not equal, even if they have the same rights.  It might just be a shift in wording, but there is absolutely no fucking reason that a woman and a woman or a man and a man can't enjoy the same terms as a heterosexual couple with there being no differentiation.

-Finished writing up a .doc application that broke my head argh.  But I'm glad it's over with because I love the character it was for. ♥
-Killed a giant red dracon (Crosell) in Star Ocean III on my replay of the game.  Hurrrrrr almost at Disc 2. :D
-Figured out why I've been having random bouts of depression.  Cramps, anyone?

I'm at least glad the depression wasn't because of anything else.  I really don't need drama, iRL or on the internets.  (Because they're srs bzns :| )

The basic plot is of a daemon who devours the entirety of the riddles/mysteries of Hell-- so he goes up to Earth, where there's a variety.  He forces a girl with a mystery hanging over her head to be his front in earth, so that pretending to be human is much easier.  That way, he also gets more 'food.'  Together they encounter a score of riddles, mysteries, and...a plot that steadily gets heavier and heavier.

Creepy and delicious. ♥

There are certain kinds of people that we have.

There are the people you always thought you could rely on, the ones you thought you could count on in a tight spot, who always said they'd be there, that they'd care.  The ones who ended up committing hypocrisies that speak volumes about just how reliable people can be.

Then there are people who don't have to say anything, because you know they're sincere.  They care.  They want to be there not just because of obligation but because it makes them feel good to see you feeling good.  The ones who aren't at all awkward when you need a shoulder, or even when you need to rant or unload.

If there's anything I want, anything I think I need, it's trust.  I just can't stand to be with people if there isn't trust.

And when that trust is broken?  I'm sorry, but I'm not a great person.  I'm okay at forgiving, but forgetting, I just can't. I can't.
